Assisted Living Cleanouts

An assisted living cleanout is a full residential clear-out timed around a move into a care community. It is different from a standard haul-away because the sorting matters as much as the hauling. Someone has to decide what goes to the new apartment, what family members want, what is worth donating, and what has genuinely reached the end of its life.

We handle every part of that except the deciding. Our crews arrive with the truck, the labor, and the packing materials, then work at whatever pace the family sets. All lifting is ours - including from basements, second floors, and attics with pull-down stairs.

Most single-family homes fall somewhere between a half truckload and three full loads depending on how much the family keeps. You get a written, no-obligation estimate after the walkthrough, and that number is what you pay.

The four-pile method is what keeps these jobs from becoming overwhelming. Keep goes to the new apartment. Family gets tagged and set aside for relatives to collect. Donate goes to our local charity partners with a receipt back to you. Haul is everything left, and it is the only pile that goes on the truck.

Photo albums, documents, jewelry boxes, and anything that looks personal is set aside for review rather than loaded, and that has saved more than one family a lost heirloom.

A lot of our assisted living cleanouts are booked by someone other than the resident - an adult child two states away, a listing agent with a photo shoot scheduled, a senior move manager coordinating the whole transition, or an attorney handling a trust. We can work from a remote point of contact, send photos as we go, and invoice whoever is responsible for payment.
